About the role...

We are currently recruiting for 24 Fraud Investigators to be based out of our Bolton office on permanent basis. As a Fraud Investigator you will play an active role in protecting both Shop Direct and our Customers from fraudulent activity. You will start your career in fraud prevention and will work in both an analytical and phone-based role (this is not a call centre position, you will be based in a call centre environment though!) looking after incoming responses to Shop Direct fraud checks and investigating unusual activity on our Customer accounts.

Key Responsibilities...

Ensuring appropriate action is taken on any serious complaints received by the department i.e. OIC, CIFAS, in order that the complaint is properly investigated, and operations remain compliant

Assess and analyse fraudulent and suspected fraudulent accounts and applications by the rules and guidelines laid down by CIFAS and internal policies and procedures, in order to ensure any investigations are compliant, thorough and properly conducted

Investigate CIFAS alerts and liaise with the appropriate external organisations ie. police, in order to ensure the correct and requested information has been submitted in full and in compliance with policies and procedures

Referral of issues to Team manager only in instances where prescribed limits of authority are about to be exceeded.

The working hours ( 2 x shift patterns)

1st Shift ( afternoons and evenings)

Tuesday - Saturday - 12.00 - 7pm ( 35 hours between these hours)

2nd Shift

Monday - Friday 9- 5pm ( 35 hours between these hours)

About you

We’re looking for someone with great communication skills both verbally and written; ideally you will have experience in a regulatory environment such as finance, financial services or insurance. Or someone who has an interest in Fraud Investigation from a University degree or College course, either way you will be naturally curious and able to spot anomalies or patterns. You will have an excellent eye for detail and be used to working closely with Technology and able to build relationships both internally and externally.

You will be able to multi-task, work to deadlines, be agile in your approach to work, possess good and confident decision-making skills whilst being focussed on the customer outcome.

The Fraud team have access and use a number of different systems and databases to be able to make effective decisions and therefore someone who is competent with systems or who can pick these up quickly through our fantastic training is required.
