How do I get more information on a role I’m interested in?

Our adverts should include the details of one of the person who's looking after the role. You can contact them direct. However, if you can’t see this then please email recruitmentteam@shopdirect.com with the role title and ReqID and we'll help.


What should I include with my application?

Before you apply for a role please make sure your CV or Linkedin Profile is up to date. We may need you to submit a portfolio of your work too. We’ll let you know in the advert if it's required so please also make sure your contact details are up to date so we can get in touch with you easily.


What happens after I apply for a role?

We have a team of in house recruiters who will use their skills to find the very best people to fulfil our recruitment needs. As you can imagine, we receive a lot of applications for our roles. Once we’ve received your application you’ll be notified by email if you're not going to be considered. If you have the relevant skills and experience you’ll be contacted by one of our team to have a discussion in more detail around your background, transferable skills and expectations. If you’ve been selected for an interview you will be notified once the hiring manager has been made aware of your application.


What is your interview process?

  • 1st stage interviews: We typically invite 3-5 candidates to a 1st stage interview, normally face to face with the recruiter looking after the role, hiring manager or team member. On occasion, this first phase may be a telephone or video interview, but you’ll be given plenty of notice. Either way, this stage is all about getting a better understanding of your experience and ambitions and we’ll want to know whether you’re a good fit for us and vice versa. You can check out the values we look for in more detail here. You’ll be given plenty of opportunities to ask questions about us, the role itself, any project information and the team.
  • 2nd stage interviews: If you’ve been successful during your 1st stage interview, you’ll be invited to attend a 2nd stage. This stage is usually with the same hiring manager as the 1st stage as well as someone from the team who you’d be working alongside.
  • 3rd stage: Sometimes we ask for a 3rd stage less formal interview or a coffee with someone from the team.

Assessment: Many of our opportunities, especially technical ones, will include a test/assessment which is fully customised for the role. This could be a remote online technical test or a test you'll take on the day of your interview. Some of our business areas may hold assessment centres or assessment days, take home case studies or even online psychometric or numerical tests depending on role requirements.


How long will it take for me to receive interview feedback?

We generally aim to respond to every candidate within 10 working days and should you be successful you’ll be called by the Talent Acquisition team to run through your offer.
