Opportunities in our Test & QA community :

As a quality engineer in the Mobile App team you’re the quality advocate and testing SME within that delivery team. Your mind-set will lead to you driving quality throughout, enabling others to test, and coaching the right outcomes.

At the outset of a change you’ll use your knowledge of the product and your experience of testing mobile apps to drive the conversation on quality with the whole team.

You’ll ensure that all aspects of quality have been considered, both functional and non-functional, to ensure we have well-defined success criteria to delight our customers.

You’ll use your automation-first mind-set to ensure we’re checking our product in an efficient and effective way.

You’ll use the learnings gained from exploratory testing to inform the team on how we can make the product even better.

You’ll use your experience to highlight areas of risk and collaborate with the team to understand how these can be dealt with.

You’ll invest time in yourself and your team to build a set of skills that will enhance our delivery capability and ensure we excel in delighting our customer. We want you to be a master of your craft!

You’ll share your learnings, reaching out to the wider QA community to understand, and contribute to the evolution of QA, we want you to share your passion for testing and tech.


What do we look for?

We value people who can demonstrate a passion and curiosity around technology aligned to a good understanding of modern software testing methods, tools and processes, particularly in reference to the testing of iOS and Android Mobile Apps.

We look for people who have great interpersonal skills, adaptability, bravery, love working collaboratively, take ownership of the conversation on quality, are fearless in their approach to work, and continuously seek feedback to learn from.

Our teams in Mobile app work in an Agile development environment and we see Continuous Integration and Continuous Deployment as critical in supporting our strategic ambition of being the best for our customers, and you will need the right skills to add value in that CI/CD framework. We look for the quality engineers who are comfortable testing at service layers and UI through automation and exploratory, and pairing with engineers to ensure the joint skills of the engineer and quality engineer are maximised for the output of quality code.

We like to use Test-Driven approaches to software engineering to ensure our QA is efficient and effective. In our automation space we use a variety of tools and frameworks to help us ensure our software works, performs, and is secure and stable. An example of the tools we currently use for mobile app automation would be Espresso and Postman. The important thing is using tools and frameworks to add value to the quality process. Most importantly we see automation as the opportunity for our Quality Engineers to spend additional time focused on exploring the product, seeking rich information to feedback with.

Self-development is really important for us. We see both learning together as a team through the process of delivery and individual learning to build specific skills to be able to contribute more to the team, as really important. We will give you the time and tools to do this.
